Andrea LaFontaine is executive director of the Michigan Trails and Greenways Alliance (MTGA), a statewide nonprofit serving as the voice for non-motorized trail users and advancing trails across Michigan.

Andrea previously served as the Griffin Endowed Chair in American Government at Central Michigan University, where she taught courses and hosted community forums focused on Michigan government and public policy. Before joining MTGA, she spent two years in the executive division of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources as the Southeast Michigan Policy Advisor, where she also assisted the Iron Belle Trail team.

She also served six years in the Michigan House of Representatives, representing Northern Macomb and portions of St. Clair County. During her tenure, she served on multiple policy committees and was chairwoman of the House Natural Resources Committee for four years.
